Strengthening of the Trieste - Luxembourg intermodal connection
Port of Trieste and CFL multimodal signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote multimodal logistics on the corridor Trieste – Bettembourg Dudelange.
Port of Trieste and CFL multimodal aim at developing and optimising the intermodal connections between their two hubs in Trieste (I) and Bettembourg-Dudelange (L).
Since 2012 an intermodal shuttle connects the two hubs. With 9 roundtrips per week, this intermodal connection has proven to be efficient and reliable. An increase to 12 roundtrips per week is foreseen by end of 2019.
Port of Trieste and CFL multimodal are convinced that this cooperation, which focuses on the quality of intermodal door-to-door delivery, will enable them to strengthen the intermodal offer on this route, to lower road congestion and attract new customers on trains.
